A study by Andrew Gelman, a statistics and political science professor at Columbia, finds that there are wider differences between how the richest versus the poorest residents vote in low-income states (Red) than in high-income states (Blue). Or - the rich are much more likely to vote Republican in a state where they are in a population with lots of much poorer folks.
