There's a subtle campaign going on, abetted by several Florida bloggers, to pin talk show host Bill O'Reilly with a 'terrorist supporter' tag. Literally. They're urging bloggers and other websites to make a link to Reilly's web page from text saying 'terrorist sympathizer'. ( The actual coding is < href="http://www.billoreilly.com">Terrorist Sympathizer< /a>. Remove space between the <>) (See Bark Bark Woof Woof, and Why Now? for the story.)
This has been done before, by bloggers who linked the term 'failure' to the White House site; it's called a 'Google Bomb'. Eventually, Google will rank the O'Reilly site as the highest ranking site for this search term, if enough links are created.
Why are they doing this? O'Reilly recently made some comments that seemed to encourage terrorists to bomb San Francisco's Coit Tower.
