Richard, I think the Judge is being emo and may be influenced by Judge Judy's injudicious style. He certainly did not hear the lawyer right. I linked to this site (thanks) and ranted on it over at our ethics blog. http://lawprofessors.typepad.com/legal_profession/2007/02/judges_gone_wil.html
I don't know they completely cut out what the lawyer said, so it would be impossible to get the context. He may have been making little comments all through and this one was the one that sent the judge over the edge, we will probably never know. I work IT in a law firm, so my initial assumption was that it was something the lawyer had legitimately said, but I could be biased in the wrong way.
