Debunking White House's Katrina Lies

The non-partisan research arm of Congress was asked to prepare a report on whether Gov. Blanco "took the necessary steps...to give the Federal Government in general, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in particular, the legal authority needed to act to save lives and mitigate the damage stemming from Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana."

The report's conclusion is crystal clear. Yes, Blanco did declare a state of emergency before the hurricane hit. Yes, Blanco did "take the steps necessary to request emergency and major disaster declarations for the State of Louisiana IN ANTICIPATION OF Hurricane Katrina."

Read for yourself.
